Lip sunscreen. Protect your lips from the sun.

The lips are a part of the body that we often don't care for as we should. Their skin is different from the rest of the body and is thinner and more sensitive. For this reason, they require special care to protect them. Often, we don't apply any treatment until we notice an abnormality. The lips lack melanin, the pigment in the skin that gives us its color. For this reason, they don't have as much protection as the rest of the body's skin, which can cause the lips to burn, dry out, or crack.

By now, most of us are aware that we need to protect our skin from sun exposure . But there are parts of the body, like the lips, that we still forget to adequately protect. Using the right lip sunscreen is very important for protecting the delicate skin in this area of the body.

Lip problems caused by the sun

Sunlight can cause various problems for our lips. Sun exposure, even if it's mild, damages the delicate skin of the lips and can cause lesions or discomfort such as:

• Cold sores appear as a result of high temperatures or a decrease in immune defenses, causing painful blisters on the lip.
• Dry lips are caused by dehydration. It's very important to regularly hydrate with water, especially in high temperatures, to prevent lips from drying out. A lack of nutrients or exposure to wind can also cause dry lips.
• Over time, the skin on your lips becomes thinner and more sensitive, causing them to lose color and become more vulnerable.

Protect your lips from the sun

To avoid potential problems or illnesses caused by sun exposure, it's important to follow a series of guidelines for daily lip care. Below are some tips to help you protect your lips from sun exposure:

• We should include our lips in our daily hygiene routine. We should clean them daily after meals or at night.
• If we notice that the skin on our lips is raised or that there are pieces of dead skin on them, we should avoid pulling them off, as this can cause wounds or infections that weaken them.
• Moistening your lips with saliva from your tongue causes them to dry out more quickly and can cause cracks or tears in the skin.
• Always drinking from your own glass will help prevent infections or contagions.
• It is advisable to change lipsticks frequently and remove makeup with a makeup remover.
• It is advisable to apply lip balm when exposed to temperature changes.

If you're going to be exposed to the sun for a long time, we suggest applying a broad-spectrum lip sunscreen with SPF 15 or higher. This sunscreen will help protect the skin on your lips and prevent sunburn.
