If you
color your hair at home , we are sure that more than once you will have doubted which is the best option. You will also have seen that there are some
numbers and you will have wondered what exactly they refer to. Today we explain in detail any aspect related to dyes.
The numbering of hair dyes.
Hair dyes have a numerical
code made up of 3 numbers . It will help us to know the level of
tone, reflections and intensity .
They are the numbers of tone heights, primary reflection and secondary reflection or double reflection.
Let's go with the explanation...
1. Tone Heights or Base Tone
They are the natural tones because they do not have any reflection and go from tint 1, the darkest, to tint 10, the lightest. It may or may not be accompanied by a second and third digit.
Tint 1 – Black
Tint 2 – Brown
Tint 3 – Dark Brown
Tint 4 - Brown
Tint 5 – Light Brown
Tint 6 – Dark blonde
Tint 7 - Blonde
Tint 8 – Light blonde
Tint 9 – Very Light Blonde
Color 10 - Platinum Blonde
2. The pitch number will be accompanied by a dot and a number or two in a row.
a. Primary reflex - hue towards which the color will change when light falls on the hair.
b. Secondary reflex or intensity.
Consider:
- If it has two equal digits followed by the dot, this indicates that this reflection is very intense. For example, 5.44, a light brown tone with very coppery reflections.
- The third digit will indicate the specific tonality of the reflections or the intensity, but they follow the same enumeration.
semi-permanent dyes
They are those
temporary dyes and the color loses intensity with shampoo washes.
chestnut tints
They are tints of the base color and will be those that start with 3, 4 and 5. They can be pure, that is, without reflection or with reflections, if the number 3,4 or 5 is accompanied by other numbers.
Mahogany tints
They will be those that the second digit is a .5
caramel dyes
With the reflections we can play and get a caramel tone, but the final color will depend on the base tone. The most successful caramel tint.
copper tints
They will be those dyes whose reflection (second number) is .4
blonde tints
Those whose base is clear, therefore the code starts with 6, 7, 8, 9 or 10.
red tints
The red tone will be given by the reflection we choose, that is, the second and third digits are 6.
Blue black tints
They would be those that begin with the number 1 or 2 and followed by the reflection number .1
